New to JP Fitness
I'm Nina: a mid-30s professional who has finally had enough. I spent my 20s making poor decisions, ensuring my 30-something-year-old body ended up "well insulated." I'm 5'7" and 220lbs, so it's going to be a long road to transform my body. My goal is to change that fat into muscle. Everything else will come of it's own accord. I'm quite thankful that I was an active athlete and weight lifter in my formative years. Most activity isn't downright torture and I'm able to bounce back into a cardio routine pretty quickly. That being said, I *hate* the cardio gym routine. If I never see another stair-climber or spin bike, I might die a happy woman.
Over the past year I have made major life-affirming changes. I finished my graduate degree, I moved across the country, and now have an amazing job. Now that I've started living the life I want, on my terms, it's time to get back to one of the things that makes me happy: weights. I found great joy in lifting and love how my body looked.
I've purchased the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and plan on I'm starting the program on Monday. Can't wait to see what the next few years will hold for me with this.
Welcome to JPF. Will you be starting a log (in the log section)?
Hey there Nina, I am pretty much the same as you in age and poor choices, weight and height. I had some good weights in my late 20's for a brief time, but other than that it's been pretty much a struggle uphill. I haven't ever had much fun working out either. I hope you are doing well and are continuing to lose weight!
