    KFF,
If you like I can merge your current profile with your other two incarnations with no problem. Just let me know.

There's only one trilogy, and it ain't of the King. It's of the Jedi.

    (Quick, name that movie )

Not "of the Sith", Ben? Or do we not mention that particular debacle?

I'm back again. Since the last visit I got fit, lean and healthy. I followed a close to paleo diet for a couple years, hit the gym several times a week, ran a couple 5Ks most weeks, became fire chief, played hard, things were going great.

Out of nowhere, I had someone else's heart attack in February 2014. Can't outrun your genes. Spent a week in hospital, nearly checked out a couple times through the festivities, and came out the other side with one stent and shaved like a supermodel.

I got through the re-hab process and haven't looked back. I had none of the usual bad habits that normally have to change once you start living with heart disease. All I could change was decrease stress and increase exercise.

I retired as fire chief in December of 2014 at the end of my two year term rather than stand for re-election, dropping me down to one full time job. I still drive big red trucks. Always my favourite job in the FD anyway.

I'm sentenced to an hour a day of exercise, but only for as long as I want to live. Both the Canadian and American Heart Associations agree on this. I've been diligent, and in September I decided to do more than just maintain fitness and started powerlifting to see some results for time invested. It's gone well, and my main lifts are much improved since I started. Hit the magic 300 on squats and my deadlifts are almost there. At 59 (in a week) I'll be happy when I can hit 315 for 3 sets of 5 on these.

anyway, enough whining, got to go work out. Glad to be back.

Sorry to hear about the heart attack! Holy carp! It's hard to believe considering your success in health and fitness. Hope the stent doesn't slow you down. Glad to have you back!
