Cool for writers and storytellers - you might like this

Neil Gaiman gave the Douglas Adams Memorial lecture this year - and it is quite good. Especially when he gets to his thoughts on stories.

Thanks Lisa! "A book is a shark." What a great way to start the day.

Weird question: Did anyone else notice that Gaiman sounds like a kinder, gentler, less tormented Professor Snape? I know it's implausible, but for a moment it made me wonder if Alan Rickman maybe, possibly, borrowed some of Gaiman's diction for the Snape character.

Or maybe lots of people in England speak that way.

Gaiman gives a good talk. I did hear a little Snape.
