    Nice bench!

I don't think new chucks will fix the traction issue... But you may still need a new pair for other reasons .

Try New Balance Minimus Trail shoes! I've never felt slippy in them.

I have these too, though I don't lift in them. They rule.

What do you wear them for--running?

Thank you all for the encouragement! I'm determined.

    Power Training, round 2
    Strength -Week 7: Push/Pull
    B2 Pull: Friday, 6/14/12

    Hip Thrust
    160 x 5 (x 4sets)

    Split-Stance Cable Row
    70 x 5e (x 4 sets)

    Chin up
    BW = 4, 3, 3, 3, 3 2, 1

    Seated Russian Twist
    20 x 12e (x 4 sets)

Good Ol' Plank = feet elevated 10" bench
    BW x 45sec (x 4 sets)

    40min brisk walk outside

A little DOMS today from the bench volume yesterday; and the DOMS in my glutes too...maybe all the reverse lunging, or the hill sprints. Who knows.
Friday seems to be crossfit day in my gym. There's about 4-6 guys (and they seem to add more each week) who do some crazy circuits a la' crossfit then lay on the ground huffing and puffing. Seriously, I had to step over one of them today. But I can't be too mad at them -- a couple of them actually do lift pretty decently the rest of the week, and they seem to use their circuit as more of a camaraderie competition thing...like their own little social club. They talk/socialize more than most of the women, too, hehe!

Took my 2 youngest to our rec center pool today. Is it weird that I'm kinda sad that I can't wear my fitbit around the pool -- I walk a lot chasing and keeping up with my boys. I don't ever swim much though -- mostly bc it's still chilly to me in the water.

I'm off to enjoy pizza, cookies, and family game night. While I had every intention of backloading this day, a neighbor brought over some scones this morning, and I had to try one.

Running and walking and if I do a hotel gym workout when I travel. When I lift at home I wear my lifting shoes.

I wear mine for walking and for upper body lifting days. I wear my chucks when I squat and DL.

    Power Training, round 2
    Strength -Week 8: Push/Pull
    A1 Push: Monday, 6/18/12

    Squat

    100 x 5, 105 x, 115 x 5, 115 x 5

    One-Arm DB Bench Press

    35 x 5e, 35 x 5e, 35 x 5e, 35 x 5e

    Shoulder Press
    55 x 5, 60 x 5, 60 x 5, 60 x 5

    Windshield Wiper
    BW x 12e (x 3 sets)

    Plank
    BW = 2min, 2min, 2min

And a 40min brisk walk around the neighborhood

I'm really enjoying the outdoor time I get during my walks; I'm already a little sad about the colder weather that will keep me on the treadmill later in the year. Humidity I can handle, cold I canNOT.

Squats felt good today, even though my sleep was poop last night. I didn't get to sleep quickly like normal (I blame a lazier than usual Sunday), then I woke up after a creepy feeling that someone was in my room watching me sleep. I was right. My 11yr old had come downstairs and was standing in our room staring at us (at 1:30a!). He was wrapped up in his blanket, too. Scared the bejeesus outta me -- nothing like an adrenaline rush in the middle of the night to make you toss and turn the rest of the night. He was scared bc he heard some scary sounds upstairs while he was sleeping --- and we've been trying to teach him to please wake us up when he needs us rather than just stare at us until we wake up. He doesn't get it yet so I guess I'll keep having the bejeesus scared out of me until he does. :tongue

I got my haircut on Saturday and the woman styled my hair with one of those wands. Turned out nice and I have totally straight hair. She said they're sold with a glove to protect your fingers!

Freaky being watched while you sleep!

Oh, and your workouts are looking great So many logs on JP to inspire me.

After a little jog yesterday morning, Tom decided that he wanted some new running shoes to go with the new stride that came with his new hip.

New Balance has just opened a store around the corner on Boylston Street so we went to have a look. Even though the trip was really for him, a pair of Minimus trail shoes followed me home. They are so comfy!

I'd be scared silly too if I were being watched while I slept.

Family game night ?? What sort of games?

I get startled easily by noises in the night. Just last week I heard a loud noise from the bathroom that scared me awake. I sent DH to investigate and make sure the place was safe and lo and behold a shampoo bottle had fallen out of the caddy and onto the floor Nevertheless, I think it still took me a good 15 mins to calm down, lol.
