Congrats on getting your pictures done and finishing the challenge!

I had no idea there was that much sodium in salsa- they must add the salt even though it's "fresh"? I can't wait until our tomatoes in our garden are ready to make our own...

Time for an entry, just because. Not much going on, except I'm flying from LAX to JFK tomorrow to show up at a family reunion on Saturday in Rochester NY. I haven't seen most of my relatives in about 20 years! The cool thing is, none of them have seen me thin, including my brother (who has gotten pretty fat, I think). So it will be fun to show off the bod

I have been working hard enough in the gym to have sore abs and a little bit of soreness in the glutes. That's a good thing - I need to kick up my workout intensity and frequency. My eating has been under control for the most part. I don't even feel the urge to overeat at the reunion. Except I wonder what I can find at the Sunday traditional Irish brunch at a pub that won't do too much harm.

So that's about it. I'm stressed about all the travelling because I don't travel much except to drive my car. Too many shuttles, planes, motels, directions, etc. I guess it's just like losing weight - one step at a time. I think I have all the facts I need, now I just need to execute the plan!

    Safe travels!

Loved your hiking photos. Sounds like *quite* a trip! I can't even imagine being able to do that. I'm supposed to go hiking next week in NH and that will be about as much as I can handle.

Wow 20 years, they are in for a shocker, you rock it Moondust!

I got back from my 5 day reunion trip on Tuesday night, and weighed on Wednesday morning. Pre-trip weight: 132. Post-trip weight: 137. Weight today: 135.5 I figure a pound of my gain is actual fat and the rest is water. Maybe I'll be back down in a week or so. I'm very glad to be home where I can stick to my program. Travelling is hard on diet and exercise. No healthy food choices available and a lot of sitting. I put a lot of apples in my snack bag, but I swear I am hungrier after I eat an apple than before!

Tomorrow I'll be doing a nice long hard hike, maybe 8-10 hours. Even if it rains.

You'll no doubt lose that bloat within a few days. Hope you had a great reunion, and enjoy your hike! I'm supposed to go hiking this week at some point, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Do you like almond butter? I have been eating that on my apples and it seems to keep me more full. Plus, it just tastes SO good! My favorite is Justin's, but they are likely all probably pretty similar.

Almond butter - that's a thought. They would probably allow it on the plane. I think they sell those little packs of Justin's at the market I go to.

I hiked Saturday but ate a lot too. Weight is still up. This coming weekend I'm going on another 3 day backpack and with any luck I'll drop whatever I gained recently. The trip will be a lot easier than the crazy one I did last month, and I think I'll be able to catch up on some sleep. I sleep a lot better in the mountains than at home. Sleep is my big key to controlling my weight, I firmly believe.

I have a request to make soup and dumplings one night on the backpack, and muffins too, but there will be enough of us to share that it shouldn't do any damage to my deficit. What got me last Saturday was my nemesis, pizza! It only had onions and mushrooms but I ate 4 slices. I can turn up my nose at all this fudge and ultra-sweet stuff everyone has been drooling about, but pizza has a strong attraction when I'm hungry.

In other general news, on Friday I was rear-ended while stopped for a light at a freeway exit. The hit was pretty hard, but luckily I had just taken my foot off the brake as the light turned green. Very minor damage to my rear bumper, much worse damage to the front end of the small Toyota pickup that hit me, but neither of us was hurt. I attribute good auto safety features and good muscle tone for saving me from whiplash effects!

I'm glad that you weren't seriously hurt in the accident. But still, ugh.

I know *exactly* how you feel when it comes to pizza. I can never stop one at just one, and two is where I'm getting warmed up! But it has to be good quality. I can't dig Pizza Hut/Domino's.

Thanks, Lori and Joyce! Unfortunately the pizza place on the way back from hiking is good stuff. Food quality has become more and more important to me, and I think that must generally be the case for people who lose and keep it off. Krap food is not worth the calorie expenditure!

That said, I'm having a measured 29 grams of Reese's Puffs with my coffee this morning

In other news.... mmmm, pizza. I'm with you on that one. If we keep this up, all talk of food will need to be banned on the challenge forum.

Wow! Sorry about the car accident....but, please make sure you "stay aware" that some ill-effects may arise up to weeks/months after the actual trauma!

I couldn't do it.... I don't think I could stop at one bowl. I do that thing where if I have milk left over, I add a little more cereal. LOL!
