    Letter to Bobby Petrino

    Dear Coach Petrino
We really did not mean to fire you. This was simply a misunderstanding and we are very sorry that we did not think this thru. If you will please come back, you can have your pretty young chick back. We will buy you a new Harley. In fact, if you wish, we will fire Jeff Long for firing you!
Just get your ass back to Fayetteville and stop this damn train wreck!!!!!!!!!!
    Sincerely yours
    THE HOG NATION

Not a good weekend for the hogs to be without their qb.

    Bama is a freaking buzzsaw.

A&M is off to a promising start. No disgrace losing to that Florida team.

My Missouri Tigers will be lucky to win 6 if they don't get their offense going. The first SEC game against Georgia was understandable. Georgia's defensive linemen outweighed Mizzou's average O lineman by 50 pounds. And their stud linebacker, Jarvis Jones, just dominated the game.

Against Arizona State, Mizzou's QB sat out because he didn't want to take a cortisone shot for his sore shoulder. (Eyewitnesses said he looked fine in warmups, but he decided he couldn't play.) The backup QB, a redshirt freshman, never got the offense in any kind of rhythm. That's on top of losing 5 or 6 first or second string O linemen in a matter of weeks.

The defense looks really good so far, but unless the starting QB comes back healthy and the line miraculously heals, it's looking like a very long season.

It helps that Auburn and Arkansas look worse than expected at the outset. UF looked to be the real deal against Tennessee.

Hopefully our young guys get salty quick and we can make a run at 3rd in the SEC West. I don't think we (or anyone else) can touch LSU or Bama.

I was surprised how well they played in the second half against Tennessee. After nearly losing to A&M of all schools last week I expected the worst. I reckon we'll see how UF fairs against Kentucky this weekend. Although I cant believe they (Kentucky) lost to West Kentucky! Im fully expecting UF vs. LSU to be a bloodbath this year.

I'm an Aggie. Our team is not as bad as you might have been led to believe.

I thought Aggies looked pretty good. If we don't improve a LOT, Aggies will put a thumping on us this year. Durn near pulled off a win against us last year and we were pretty good then.

It will take time. We're stepping in against the absolute best at the moment, which we are not. Everything is cyclical though. There is no fundamental reason why we cant compete though. We've got the resources, we've got the support, we just have to stop giving contract extensions to coaches off of mediocre seasons.

We've got a shot at 3rd in the west. I don't think LSU has played anyone yet, I'm interested to see how they look this year, but I have no reason to believe that they'll be anything but worthy of their ranking. Bama is a machine.
