The Fighting Irish had the fight taken away from them last night. Bama looked awesome.

ND did not belong on the same field last night. The final score was roughly the same as what a 5-7 (1-7 in conference) Tennessee team could manage.

I was just going to say, that's pretty close to beatdown Bama put on Mizzou back in October. That one was 42-10 (in Columbia, no less!).

Also 21-0 in first quarter, FWIW.

The only close games for Alabama all year were the loss to A&M and close wins against LSU and Georgia.

Maybe the best 3-4 teams in the country this year were all in the SEC. Would Oregon or Ohio State have fared any better in a showdown with Bama, A&M, or Georgia?

Oregon for sure. But unless they caught Alabama sleeping, they would lose.

I'm sympathetic. As I too have gotten a phone call from a dead girlfriend or two.

I've been on the road for most of the week -- basically traveling, working, sleeping -- so I haven't been able to figure out WTF happened.

How could someone have a "girlfriend" he never met? Especially a famous football player who, let's face it, probably wouldn't be deprived of real-life female companionship unless he actively resisted.

Is it in any way plausible that he really thought this fake woman was his girlfriend?
