Did a quick and easy workout this morning prior to my long drive north.

    Today:

    Warmups

    Side-lying clam 3x10
    Bird Dogs 3x10
    x-band walks 2x15

    Snatch - 10x1x25kg
    C+J - 10x1x25kg
    Pull Ups 10x1xBW
    Chin Ups 10x1xBW

    That's it. See ya!

He was really proud of himself and wanted to do more but I said that was enough for the day.
    That's awesome!

Yeah, he's such a good kid. We are having an excellent time so far on vacation. I have logged a lot of steps so far. Yesterday I had 20K despite a long drive up ... today I'm close to 25K steps. We are keeping very active! I will need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

Your little man is awesome! But you've been setting a great example for him. It's natural that he'd follow suit.

Have fun on your vacation. Don't get too carried away, though.

What a very cool story about your little guy!! It must have made you swoon.

My sons are all gamer-boys, and they are NOT at all interested in what I do. I tried to get my 6th grader to do some pushups with me at the park this weekend, and he seriously just rolled his eyes and gave a whiny "Moooom." Kids these days.

All caught up with the hip thrusters's pr0n, your awesome lifts (need to also try ADL), be careful with back squats dear... and your equally awesome son.

Have a great time on your busy vacation!

Hey guys! Had a great few days of vacation. Didn't do any workouts but was suuuuuuuuuper active. Walked, hiked, kayaaked, biked, etc. I did a quick workout today. It's amazing how crappy I felt after sitting and driving for several hours yesterday. I don't know how some people can be so sedentary - either they feel crappy all the time or they don't know what feeling good feels like.

    Today:

    Warmups

    Side-lying abduction 3x10
    Bird Dogs 3x10
    Band rotations 2x10

    C+J
    3x1x15kg
    5x1x25kg
    1x30kg
    1x35kg
    1x40kg
    1x42kg
    1x44kg
    1x46kg
    1x48kg
    2x1x5kg

    OFS
    1x45kg
    1x50kg
    1x55kg
    1x60kg

    TRX Assisted Pistols 3x10
    Hip Thrust 3x6x105kg

That's it. Felt pretty tired and achy. I'm sure I will feel better tomorrow!

I drive quite a bit when I am out traveling for work and agree you can start to feel like crap pretty quickly. One of the nice things about travel though is I can always find time during the day to visit a gym and get in a workout. The hotel gyms are laughably inadequate but that's no big deal, I've always been able to find a decent gym where I'm able to get in my workout. And I get reimbursed by work which is awesome. The only somewhat bad experience was at the Y near Orlando where people would put their towel or water bottle or dumbells on the benches when they weren't even working out to save them and not allow anyone else to use them.

I find driving makes me ache much more than a long flight. Probably because of the sitting position. I felt like crap yesterday. I guess you must get used to it right?

I had a pretty good workout today.

    Warmups

    Snatch
    3x1x15kg
    4x1x25kg
    1x30kg
    1x32kg
    4x1x35kg
    1x37kg
    2x1x38kg
    1x39kg
    1x40kg
    1x41kg
    1x42kg
    1x43kg
2x1x44kg (missed both, but it's very close. I will hopefully get it next time)

    OBS
    1x45kg
    1x55kg
    1x60kg
    1x65kg
    1x70kg
    1x75kg

    ADL 3x8x55kg

    Pushups 2x15

Back squats are feeling okay. I still don't like them, but I think the more I do them the better I will feel. I just need to remember not to go too heavy. Once I break form just slightly and start to lean forward as I come up, I can feel it in my low back. I might switch it up and do higher volume sets at a lower weight until I get the groove. We'll see.

TGIF! It's supposed to be a nice and hot weekend!

That is a great workout! And just so you know, although you don't think you are going heavy on those back squats, from my point of view they are. That's gotta be 1.5 X your bodyweight. Phew! What WOULD you consider heavy?

Yeah, the main thing is the hips get a big tight from all the sitting, so I stretch them when they start to feel really tight and uncomfortable. I think getting out and being active tends to help keep them from locking up too much. So squats and deadlifts are always a solid choice for keeping them in good working condition.

When you're driving you're driving. On a 12hr flight I'm passed out and tossing and turning.

I figure I should be able to back squat more than I front squat. Right now it's pretty much the same. I'm hoping to get up to something like 85kg on the back squat this year. Not sure if it will ever happen though. We'll see.

Good thinking. I don't do much driving at all so this was a new kind of achy and sore.

Totally. I'm usually reclined and watching a movie or at least getting up and walking around once I get sore. Driving is just driving.

I know! She cracks me up too. She is the silliest dog on the planet. My neighbors love her and call me to ask if she can come out and play with their dogs. Doggie playdates.
